with up to 300 consulting hours
for program development 08/10-06/11
Teach in the Certified Nursing Assistant Certificate Program and assess student learning outcomes. In collaboration with the program coordinator and Division Head, be responsible for curriculum evaluation and improvement and integrate instructional technology as appropriate. Initiate and maintain active participation in professional development opportunities that encompass the discipline of CNA and teaching effectiveness.
SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS:
-Bachelor of Science in Nursing
-Current Illinois Registered Nurse license with two years of nursing experience.
-Meet the Aide Instructor Requirements in Section 395.160 (77 Illinois Administrative Code 395)
-Possess or show evidence of eligibility for a valid Illinois teaching certificate or a provisional certificate.
-A certificate indicating completion of a IDPH approved train the trainer workshop/program.
-Meet the requirements for Instructors of the Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementias Portions of a Basic Nursing Assistant Program (Section 395.300(r) through (z)).
-Experience in the instruction of nurse aide students.
-Documentation of current CPR certification at the appropriate level maintained and provided to IDPH.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
-Theory, laboratory, clinical supervision, and Alzheimer content instruction for students in this program.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate education programs for students pursuing both the certified nursing assistant certification, an acute care module, first responder and other viable certifications.
-Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current related state and federal requirements.
-Maintain accurate records, schedules, and course requirements regarding hours of instruction and content.
-Evaluate and document student progress through testing, observation, and assessment of skills attained.
-Communicate effectively with students, fellow team members, and staff at clinical sites.
-Provide a stimulating environment that encourages participation, interpersonal skills development, and comprehension of concepts of good patient care.
-Maintain professional growth in nursing expertise, instructional skills, and administrative program changes dictated by state and federal requirements through attendance at appropriate seminars, membership in professional organizations, and by following relative professional publications.
-Perform other related duties.
