Position Title: Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA)
Summary: The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) provides behavior analysis services and behavior management plans for both students who receive special education and students who are receiving support through the Multi-tiered System of Supports (Tiers 2 and 3). The BCBA will also be responsible for providing professional development opportunities for certified and non-certified Barrington 220 staff, and participate in district-level committees.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.
Collaborate with building and district leadership to develop and modify BCBA programming.
Create and adjust plans for students who require specific behavior interventions.
Direct modeling of services with students who present complex and challenging behaviors (case by case basis).
Plan and provide professional development to certified teachers and related staff.
Plan and provide professional development of student support assistants in service delivery, data collection, and general information.
Participate in required and other job-related professional development activities to improve or maintain certification/skills.
Participate in building level MTSS or IEP student meetings, as needed.
Other duties may be assigned.

TITLE: TEACHER
Teachers shall be responsible to the building principal and/or the Department Chairperson, and the duties of the position shall include:
1. PROGRAM
a. Lesson Plans: Develop and maintain plans for daily instruction based on district courses of study and guides.
b. Instruction: Utilize teaching methods and orderly classroom procedures to meet the wide range of abilities, interests, and maturational levels of students.
c. Objectives: Establish and communicate to students well-defined objectives for each unit of work, including evaluation procedures, homework, tests, related projects, and class activities.
d. Evaluation: Cooperate with the school administration in evaluating the school program by serving on study groups. Make recommendations to the administration regarding methods of improving curricular, extra-curricular or general program areas.
e. Development: Assist in development of, be knowledgeable about, and be guided by the appropriate curriculum of the district.
f. Field Trips: Conduct appropriate field trips which are part of the educational program.
2. STAFF
a. Meetings: Attend and participate in meetings (district, faculty, and department).
b. School Activities: Share in the responsibility of supervising extra-curricular and other school activities.
c. Staff Communication: Share with other staff members ideas and techniques to improve curriculum and teaching. Confer with other staff members regarding experiences with a given student when such action is appropriate to student needs.
3. STUDENTS
a. Evaluation: Evaluate individual student progress on a regular basis and maintain necessary records.
b. Reports: Provide written student progress reports as required and/or upon special request of the school administration.
c. Parent Conferences: Meet with parents to discuss student needs, problems or progress.
d. Student Conferences: Hold conferences with individual students as determined by teacher and/or student need.
e. Health and Welfare: Exercise reasonable measures to assure student health and safety, being alert to unusual mental or physical conditions of students and referring these to nurse, guidance counselor or administration.
f. Special Needs: Identify needs in students which might constitute potentially disabling conditions and advise, plan and assist in implementation with the appropriate administrator in order to provide each student with a suitable program of instruction. Participate with resource personnel for the purpose of follow-up to the aforementioned procedure.
g. Conduct: Assume responsibility for supervising the behavior of students in his/her direct charge and exercise authority, as warranted, over other students on school property or during approved events away from campus.
h. Cumulative Records: Review individual students’ cumulative records at beginning of school term or upon enrollment and receipt of out-of-district records. Be responsible for entry of appropriate student data.
4. OPERATIONS
b. Pupil Attendance, Tardiness: Keep records of pupil attendance and tardiness, and utilize procedures that encourage punctuality.
c. Injury, Illness: Report to the administration any injury or illness to a student or self which occurs within school jurisdiction.
d. Absence: Advise administration prior to absence from school as designated in Substitute Teachers Handbook.
e. Substitutes: Provide appropriate plans and materials for use by substitute as designated in Substitute Teacher’s Handbook.
f. Books, Supplies: Account for books and supplies and keep requisite records of their quantity and condition. Be responsible for requests and efficient management of books and supplies.
g. Physical Plant: Observe proper procedures for maintaining a safe and orderly physical environment and inform the administration of unsafe and/or unsanitary conditions.
h. Emergency Procedures: Know and observe all school regulations regarding emergency procedures. Review these procedures with students periodically.
i. Professional Responsibilities: Allocate sufficient time before, during and after the school day to complete classroom duties and other professional responsibilities.
5. FINANCE
a. Budget, Requisitions: Requisition as necessary and assist in the development of the annual budget. b. Student Activities: Keep adequate records of all financial transactions relating to student activities.
6. PUBLIC RELATIONS
a. Presentation: Interpret school programs and procedures to students and parents when requested by the administration.
b. School/Community ?Relations: Participate in Back-to-School, Open House and other occasional school/community functions.
7. PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS
a. Professional Meetings, Courses: Maintain professional excellence through attendance at professional meetings, workshops, reading professional literature and/or taking advanced courses. b. The Barrington Transition Program is a vocational program involving students from Barrington 220 that qualify for special education services, have been deemed appropriate to continue their education in the area of transition activities by their IEP team, and are between the ages of 18-22 years old. Portions of this program operate in conjunction with the Division of Rehabilitation Services.

JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Building Principal and Director of Student Services, the Special Education Teacher develops and provides specialized instruction to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities, evaluates and assesses student progress against instructional objectives, and functions as IEP Case Manager to assigned students.

1. Provides research-based specialized instruction to address the instructional goals and objectives contained within each student's IEP.

The registered nurse provides direct nursing services to students and staff members to maximize health and wellness in the school community. All duties are performed in accordance with district/state board of education policies and procedures and state law regarding nurse practice.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
A. Nursing Care
1. Promotes and protects the optimal health status of children. 2. Provides direct professional nursing services, first aid, illness and emergency care to students and staff in response to the nursing assessment and in accordance with professional standards, school policy and procedures, and state and local mandates. 3. Assists Certified School Nurse in obtaining a health and developmental history. 4. Performs mandated screening procedures for vision and hearing (requires state credentials as a screener) and evaluates findings and refers deficits in vision, hearing, and growth, etc. 5. Administers medication with appropriate guidelines and documentation; knows purpose and side effects. 6. Participates in maintaining accurate medical records to assure compliance with state mandates, including immunization, physical examinations, and medical conditions, and related archival responsibilities. 7. Makes appropriate assessments and referrals for suspected abuse/neglect as a mandated reporter. 8. Identifies deviant health findings. 9. Under guidance of Certified School Nurse, participates in special service meetings and completes health care plans.
B. Communication
1. Maintains communication with the certified school nurse, teachers, other school personnel, and parents/guardians to enhance cooperative action, which will meet the health and safety needs of students. 2. Initiates referrals to parents, school personnel and community health resources for intervention, remediation and follow-through.
3. Completes accident/incident reports for students/staff including workman’s compensation claims and initializes exposure incident checklist. 4. Provides health services and counseling in an effective and positive manner to enhance. 5. Compiles data for statistical purposes. 6. Maintains confidentiality regarding all school and health related issues. C. Organization 1. Maintains a daily log of student/staff visits and documentation on individual health record. 2. PHYSICAL CONTEXT OF THE JOB:
The Registered Nurse will be responsible for delivering an individualized health
care plan and assisting with the delivery of an individualized educational plan if applicable. The use of adaptive equipment may be necessary such as wheelchairs (manual, electric), Hoyer lift, specialized walkers or chairs, respiratory devices, communication devices, feeding devices, and others depending on student needs. The job may require lifting for therapies and toileting. Exposure to blood and body fluids is possible. The individual must be able to learn the necessary adaptive equipment and institute use of said equipment; learn any therapies as designed by the special education team and implement appropriately; and meet the physical care taking responsibilities in the health plan.
