The Aurora East Public Schools, District 131, has the following opening(s) for the 2009-2010 school year and will accept applications from candidates who may be interested in the positions listed below. A group hospitalization medical insurance plan, dental insurance, and term life insurance policy are provided.
TITLE: SECRETARY TO HUMAN RESOURCES (CATEGORY II)
CLASSIFICATION: Non-union – 12 months, 8 hours per day
STARTING DATE: As soon as possible
QUALIFICATIONS: 1. High School Diploma or Equivalent, Associate’s Degree or higher preferred
2. Five years of experience in Human Resources or related field
3. Proficient knowledge of computers and software programs (specifically Microsoft Office Suite)
4. Office Technical experience (proficiency to word process/type 50-60 wpm)
5. Excellent organizational skills
6. Ability to handle confidential information
7. Excellent written and oral communication skills
8. Ability to manage multiple priorities
9. Ability to work in a linguistically and culturally diverse public
REPORT TO: DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES
JOB REQUIREMENTS: 1. Organize and sustain records for clerical and custodial staff: hiring, postings and procedures, absences, payroll, FMLA, salary notices, evaluations
2. Prepare and maintain spreadsheets for new educators: mentor/protégé alignment, mentor training, workshop completion
3. Design and create flyers and brochures: new educator orientation, new educator workshops, professional development events
4. Coordinate and record information for District-wide recognition events, Those Who Excel, Kane County Educator of the Year: ballots, invitation design and receipt, program compilation
5. Assist in hiring process of lunch supervisors and crossing guards
6. Other duties as assigned
EVALUATION: Performance of job requirements will be evaluated annually by the Director of Human Resources in accordance with Board Policy and administrative guidelines.
